Coaches
Head Coach Tom Marcis is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He played soccer collegiately for Concordia University, Ann Arbor, MI. He was a four year letter winner for Concordia and an all-conference selection. Marcis is the soccer coordinator for Simle Middle School and before coming to Legacy coached both boys and girls soccer at Simle Middle School for 19 years. Marcis also was the Head Girls Soccer Coach for Legacy High School for five years. In 2005 he was selected North Dakota Girls Competitive Soccer Coach of the year. His involvement in the Bismarck soccer community extends to coaching traveling soccer teams and being a Referee. Marcis also is the president for the North Dakota Soccer Association. He and his wife, Sara, have four grown children and six grandchildren.
Varsity Assitant Coach Mick Lenhardt is a native of Bismarck. He grew up playing soccer and started coaching at Wachter while still in high school. Mick coached boys and girls at Simle Middle School for before joining the Legacy boys and girls coaching staffs. Mick is head coach for the Legacy Girls Soccer program. Mick works as a Special Education Teacher at Legacy High School. His wife, Torie, is a director of nursing at CaringEdge Home Health in Bismarck and they have two daughters.
Varsity Assistant Coach Ryan Okerson is a native of Bismarck and played at Century High School and collegiately at The University of Mary as well as Huron University. He earned honors as an All-American goalkeeper before finishing his college career. Okerson has coached various levels of soccer in Bismarck since 1995. He has coached for Simle, Horizon, Century High School, Bismarck High School, Bismarck State College and many years with Capitol City Soccer Club (CCSC) before it was transformed to Dakota United. During his years as a CCSC coach he was part of a run that ended with a USA Cup Tournament championship, numerous state championships, regional tournament appearances, and many first place finishes in tournaments in Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota. His wife, Melissa works as a medical coder at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck and they have two children, Sophia and Kellen.
Goal Keeper Coach Grant Heidrich Grant is a native of Bismarck and has been around soccer his whole life. He played on the first Legacy boys varsity soccer team and played all four years of his high school career for the Sabers. He has now coached multiple seasons at both the middle school and high school levels. Currently Grant is working at Bismarck Motor Company. He enjoys being in the outdoors as well as watching and playing soccer.
